See Your Future with VECTRA 3D Simulation

In sunny Naples there isn’t a shortage of avid golfers. So, most of you probably remember in Caddyshack when Ty Webb told Danny Noonan, “See your future. Be your future. Be the ball.” Well, thanks to the latest 3D computer imaging, you can see your future after having various potential cosmetic procedures, thanks to Dr. Turk’s Vectra 3D Imaging System. This state-of-the-art technology allows our patients to see what their proposed body changes will look like on their own figure, long before we even schedule surgery!

The Vectra 3D System takes much of the anxiety out of cosmetic surgery — patients often are worried that they can’t tell what a particular procedure will look like on their unique body. Dr. Turk can simulate various procedures — breast augmentation, body contouring, breast lift, chin augmentation, rhinoplasty, facelift, and neck lift — through Vectra 3D system software. That way you’ll have a very accurate idea how surgery will look on your unique figure, taking much of the guesswork out of the process.

The process

During a consultation, Dr. Turk will take three-dimensional photos of the patient using Vectra’s camera system. Then, the Vectra software simulation goes to work, creating a 3D digital replication of what the patient will look like after surgery. The image can be viewed from any angle on the office computer system, and Dr. Turk can make adjustments as requested by the patient to view different options.

The Vectra 3D camera

For Dr. Turk to capture the patient’s 3D image, more than one image is needed. One of the cool things about this system is the way it takes a series of pictures simultaneously from several different points of view. These images are then merged to build a three dimensional virtual model of the patient. The Vectra system very accurately recreates the patient’s body or face.

The Vectra 3D simulation is the key

From there the software in the Vectra system takes over. The software creates the “after” image of the patient, basing it upon the specifics of the patient’s actual body taken in the 3D image. Once the parameters are entered — maybe removing a bump on the bridge of the nose — the software builds the simulation. But this initial simulation isn’t the end. At this point, Dr. Turk can use simulated sculpting tools to change the size, shape, and position of the treatment area. Depending on the procedure, facial features can be smoothed, tightened, and resized; breasts can be made larger, lifted, and shaped to the patient’s preference. This simulation can then guide Dr. Turk when he prepares for and performs the actual surgery.
